The ideal age to castrate your little dog, if he his a small miniature dog like yorkie, is around the age of 6 or 7 months. For larger breed , it is around 10 or 12 months, before puberty and before it has explosin of hormones !
If your dog has never been in the presence of a female in heat, he feels probably no need to breed and castration will not disturb his balance.
Instead, some small castrate male .... are become almost crazy when they are stimulated by the scent of a female in heat! They do not eat anymore, drink anymore, sleep anymore ... they have one thing in mine: mounting the little female of their dreams.
If we do not allow them to have sexual contact with the female, the male can become a little to much excited ... which is not specially good for his health.
